We’ve just put the finishing touches on our first fiction comic, Dangerous Aromas. This comic follows the adventures of Dirk Americano, freelance coffee buyer, as he attempts to create the perfect brew in time for the Bean of Excellence Competition. We’ll have it at our table at the Symposium, which we’re sharing with the formidable La Nina. Get it there, or look for it online soon.
Also to be found online soon is the weekly webcomic we’re now plotting; it’ll run in this very space. Subscribe so you won’t miss the premiere!

A while back now, both of the Soft Sciences gave ourselves a task: draw a comic every day for a month. A few talented artist friends, like the unsinkable La Nina, joined in (for varying values of “a month”) and the end result was the Month in Comics, one impressive Flickr group indeed. K and I have now printed up our months of mostly-diaristic strips for this year’s Portland Zine Symposium. Maybe we’ll see you there? (We’ll be tabling with Nina, who’ll have her Month strips in zine form too, and we may even be neighbors with Virginia Milkyboots!)

So, we’re getting our site up to say hello to Stumptown Comics Fest, but really we’ll have product for our table at the upcoming Portland Zine Symposium. We look forward to meething you there; while you wait, you can get to know a friend of ours.
